Recommended Aftercare

If saniderm was placed on after the session this can be allotted to wear for 1-3 days. The adhesive bandage is waterproof and overall protects the tattoo and alleviating discomfort during showering and other activities. The bandage also protects the tattoo from dirt, infection, irritation and scabbing. Although this bandage is what I primarily use, please let me know if you are allergic to adhesive bandages of any kind!

If plastic wrap is used on your tattoo instead of Saniderm, please wear for around 2 hours before commencing with traditional aftercare( aquaphor..etc)

If removing the adhesive, please avoid removing without water as a aid, it can be painful if removed dry.

Healing Process

During the healing process it is possible to see some gaps of ink or other occurrences. Every clients skin is different and healing can look different as well. Please allot around 1 month of healing to determine if your tattoo needs to be touched up. Your tattoo is healed when the flaking has stopped entirely. If you have any concerns in regards to your tattoos healing process, please email me directly with pictures and I will determine from there the next steps.

Further tips

  • Please be advised the normalcies of plasma, blood, and ink collecting under the Saniderm. This is a sign of your skin beginning its natural healing process and it is not a cause for concern unless pus or other signs of skin distress show.

  • Avoid scratching or peeling your tattoo. It may be tempting but please avoid doing such to ensure your tattoo heals completely.

  • Signs of adhesive bandage allergy: redness around bandage, excessive itchiness and irritation. If you notice this is occurring please take of the bandage as soon as possible with the aid of water to avoid further irritation.
